"The owners of the Old Apple Barn on Highway 82, between Alamogordo and Cloudcroft, want to make sure El Pasoans know they are open.
Visitors have recently walked into the store and have been surprised it's open.
"Half of our customers are from El Paso and people keep telling us they heard our store is closing," said Jerry Shulman, who is the owner.
Shulman said he recently bought the long-time store, but nothing has changed.""
